Continental Airlines Renews DFDR Data Analysis Contract for 4th Straight Term

Avionica is proud to announce renewal of our Flight Data Recorder Readout Services agreement with Continental Airlines for a fourth consecutive term.

"Avionica has provided flight data analysis services in support of Continental's Flight Data Recorder Continued Airworthiness Program since 1996", said Vice President Stylian Cocalides, "We are proud of our association with Continental, an industry leader in the use of Flight Data".

"The keystone of our Services philosophy is providing increasing value to the customer", said Stylian. "Despite steadily increasing aircraft complexity, we provide Continental more advanced service at a lower price than we did in 1996. We make it our business to know our customers' fleets and each aircraft's history. Our internal processes follow the FAA's Advisory Circulars, and have been reviewed and approved time and again by FAA and customer QA department audits. We' ve even presented our processes to an FAA PAI advisory conference".

Aircraft parameter complexity has increased tenfold in the decade since Avionica began analyzing Continental's flight data. At that time, recorders were routinely removed from aircraft and shipped to the manufacturer, to be returned months later. Labor, logistics, re-certification, and spares costs soared. Continental led the industry in a paradigm shift by purchasing Avionica's GP-573 laptop computers, downloading flight data recorders on the aircraft, and transmitting the data to Avionica for analysis. The findings were faxed back to Continental in days, not months.

Nearly a decade later, Continental continues to save money, using Avionica's RSU handheld downloader to download its flight recorders and transmit data to Avionica. Comprehensive reports are e-mailed in a few days; AOG situations are handled in just a few hours. All Flight Data Analysis is performed using AVSCAN.flight, Avionica's acclaimed Flight Data Analysis software.

Avionica specializes in complete flight data management solutions. Other products include secureLINK, the airborne wireless Ethernet router, the miniQAR, the world’s first miniature quick access flight data recorder.
