Avionica introduces the industry’s smallest portable USB 2.0 based ARINC 429 Databus Analyzer. Avionica’s USB429win software provides groundbreaking performance over a USB 2.0 Interface at an affordable price.
Unlike monolithic portable databus analyzers or PCMCIA interface devices, USB429win's USB429 adapter uses a USB 2.0 port to interface with ARINC 429 target LRUs. The interface is fully plug-and-play. The host system sees a direct serial connection that requires no software drivers or their associated headaches. The application software may be hosted on any Windows XP™ platform with an available USB 2.0 port , including the RSU II and the RSU II OnBoard, furthering Avionica's tradition of flightline-rugged test devices. USB429win features two ARINC 429 transmitters and four receivers with individually programmable data rates of 12.5 Kbps or 100 Kbps.
Also unique is the integrated library of ARINC labels, including GAMA labels, enabling users to view data in multiple formats, including binary, hex, and engineering units. Users now have the additional ability of defining their own engineering unit conversions. Time-stamped data may be recorded to disk, as well as played back to replicate activity on a bus - very useful in troubleshooting applications. |

"The implications of the new design are substantial", says Avionica's Stylian Cocalides, "Avionica evolved our product to this universal platform to enable its installation on various devices, including Electronic Flight Bags and Maintenance Access Terminals".
USB429win is available bundled in Avionica's own RSU II OnBoard, a Maintenance Access Terminal based on the RSU II, with integrated avionics interface busses (e.g. ARINC 429, RS 422, Ethernet) in the mounting base. This will permit diagnosis of connected devices without removing them from the aircraft.
All existing Avionica ARINC 429 add-on interface cables, including TCAS, MCDU/CMC simulator, and SATCOM service kits remain compatible through the legacy connector port, protecting our customers' investments. Software upgrades for these applications will also be made available.
Avionica, Inc. specializes in complete flight data management solutions. Products include secureLINK, the airborne wireless Ethernet router, satLINK, the Iridium™ satellite communications gateway, the miniQAR, the world’s first miniature quick access flight data recorder, the RSU II, a handheld flight-data monitoring, DFDR download, and databus analysis tool, and AVSCAN.flight, a commercial and military flight data analysis tool.
