WASHINGTON—Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) voted last week to provide the military with the funds needed to continue winning the War on Terror. The House passed Fiscal Year (FY) 2005 Department of Defense Appropriations Act (H.R. 4613) by a vote of 410 to 12.
“As our men and women of our military continue to win the War on Terror, we need to ensure that they are able to defeat the threats of today and defend against the threats of tomorrow,” Diaz-Balart said. “We are providing the resources needed to fight terrorism, enhance the quality of life for our troops and their families, improve readiness and modernize our military infrastructure.”

Highlights of funding Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart secured for local projects include:
"$1,000,000 for the U.S. Navy to implement the Military Flight Operations Quality Assurance / Flight Data Analysis (MFOQA/FDA) for legacy F/A-18 aircraft involving the collection of flight data through the use of miniature Quick Access Recorders manufactured by Avionica, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative aircraft data collection, monitoring, communication and analysis tools for commercial airlines, business jets, and the military located in Florida’s 25 th Congressional District".
