DISCONTINUED - RSU is at End of Life. It has been replaced by the RSU II

Proven. Since 1997, the RSU has gained a growing worldwide following at airlines, militaries, airframe and engine OEM’s, repair stations, research groups, regulatory agencies, accident investigation boards, and educational institutions. Be in good company.

Flexible. Unlike other handheld readout devices, the RSU is capable of displaying data in real time engineering units, octal, de cimal, and binary formats. And, unlike OEM devices, it can download and display real time data from a wide variety of recorder makes and models, including solid - state and legacy tape units. In fact, it is the ONLY download choice in current production for a number of legacy units! And all this can be done on the aircraft, without removing the unit, avoiding re-certification costs.

Convenient. Engineering units provide a more convenient, understandable means of diagnosing DFDR system problems than octal codes or blinking lights. An aircraft with diagnosed DFDR System failures may be quickly returned to service after replacing suspect components and performing requisite operational checks using an RSU.

Economical. Avoid removal, re-certification, logistics, and spares costs during both
routine and scheduled readouts. Using Avionica’s Readout Services, a conservative
estimate demonstrates A RETURN ON INVESTMENT OF LESS THAN ONE YEAR, even
at a small airline:
