The platform for the RSU II was chosen carefully to best respond to today’s and tomorrow’s ground support requirements. It is a powerful and rugged, weather-resistant touch-screen & pen-tablet platform with an 8.4” color LCD display, equipped with USB 2.0 and Ethernet ports, integral modem and PCMCIA Type II card slot. Ergonomically, it’s just the right size, weight, and shape to balance performance and convenience.
Now, You Can Take it With You. Avionics has become a data-centric discipline. Maintenance Manuals, Navigation Databases, LRU Operating Software and more are provided electronically. The RSU II, with available 80 Gigabyte hard disk, stores all the documents, databases, and code images necessary to maintain an aircraft whether at home or away. And the RSU II can be removed from its On-Board lock mount and carried about the aircraft as necessary.
Part of the Big Picture. RSU II OnBoard is equipped with an Ethernet port designed to communicate with an Avionica secureLINK 802.11 secure wireless router. secureLINK can be used with Avionica’s AVsync software to maintain the RSU II current with the latest manuals, dataloads, and applications. Numerous applications can be hosted on its Windows XP operating system, including ARINC 615 or RS 422 dataloading, document viewing, ARINC 429 databus analysis, TCAS diagnostics, DFDR download, softACMS, cabin maintenance, point of sale, etc..
Never Out of Touch. For outstations lacking 802.11 infrastructure, RSU II Onboard maintains communications to all networked devices using one of a variety of cellular technology radios, including GPRS, EDGE, CDMA, and EVDO (pictured). With an RSU II OnBoard, your aircraft is always part of your network on the ground.
Load Up... Like Never Before. The RSU II mounting frame houses ARINC 429, ARINC 615, and RS 422 interfaces to most onboard loadable software systems; the appropriate one can be hard-wired into the aircraft’s data loader port. The intuitive Windows XP-based AVloader dataloader software loads target LRUs up to twice as fast as the common aircraft- mounted floppy disk drive. Successful loads are logged and communicated back to the AVsync server to provide a real-time snapshot of fleet software/database revision status.
Monitor All. Add USB-429win and monitor up to four ARINC 429 databuses at a time. GP429win displays data in multiple formats, including pre-defined engineering units for a variety of LRUs. Custom definitions are also possible using a GUI word editor. Need to monitor DFDR data? The RSU II monitors (and downloads) practically every Flight Data Recorder in the western world (see reverse). Many Flight Data Acquisition units can also be monitored. Adding AVSCAN.flight permits complete flight data analysis... On-Board.
Our new menuing software enables users to configure their own custom prompts and workflow. From one-touch operation to comprehensive data entry, the choice is yours. Whatever your requirements, the RSU II can be customized to meet them.
