miniQAR Mk III Debuts at Singapore Air Show
Avionica is proud to announce that our miniQAR Mk III has been added to our miniQAR AML (Approved Model List) STC.
Avionica invented the miniature QAR, and is an industry leader in QAR technology, with over 5,000 worldwide installations, in nearly 100 aircraft types, recording the data of airline, corporate, and military operators, worldwide. miniQARs are known to be exceptionally reliabile; they have a field-proven MTBF of nearly 100,000 hrs.
“Our miniQAR Mk III is now available for immediate shipment”, said Avionica Vice President Stylian Cocalides. ”We will be debuting the product at the Singapore Air Show, in cooperation with our SE Asian reseller, APAC Aero Dynamics, Subsidiary of Miltrade Technologies Pte, Ltd.. Please visit us in booth B07.”
A variety of interface options are available in our 3rd generation miniQAR, indicates Stylian”, “Operators can now record two ARINC 717 (Harvard Biphase or Bipolar RZ) channels and up to three ARINC-429 channels (high and /or low speed) to supplement legacy flight recorder data, which may be insufficient to support a comprehensive FDM/FOQA program. Multiple programmable EIA RS 422/232 channels are available to support ACMS event recording. A bi-directional Ethernet port rounds out the family of interfaces”.
“But the most anticipated miniQAR Mk III option is the 3G wireless download module.” The module attaches to the face of the miniQAR and, when on ground, performs the functions of a 3G wireless gateway. ”Recorded data may be routed worldwide, and Ethernet connected devices can be uploaded or downloaded as well. The possibilities are very exciting”.
miniQARs are easy to install; Most Boeing aircraft are already provisioned, while others require minor alterations which can easily be accomplished in an overnight. Their low weight (approx 250 grams) can save tens of thousands of pounds of fuel over an aircraft’s lifetime when compared to installation of a traditionally sized QAR.
Avionica, Inc. specializes in complete flight data and communications management solutions comprising both airborne avionics as well as ground support equipment (GSE). Other airborne products include secureLINK, the airborne 802.11 wireless gatelink router, and satLINK, the fully ARINC 741 compliant Iridium SDU.
GSE includes the RSU II, a handheld multi-use platform for flight-data recorder monitoring and download, portable dataloading, and databus analysis. Options include AVSCAN.flight, for flight data analysis, USB429win, for USB ARINC 429 databus analysis, LOAD615win, a USB-based ARINC 615 dataloader, and LOAD615winA, an Ethernet based ARINC 615A portable dataloader.
