Template Files The Efficient Approach to Flight Data Analysis.
Through the efforts of companies like Avionica, the “reasonability check” has become the accepted alternative to time consuming ground tests in fulfillment of the mandatory regulatory maintenance check. When used with AVSCAN, template files can assist in development of an efficient analysis program, where parameter function can be verified using logical, repeatable procedures and mathematical accuracy, ensuring that every second of data can be analyzed easily and accurately. Intuitive. A basic template file contains not only the data conversion formulae necessary to present data in engineering units (as in a parameter file), but also logical Dataviews designed to portray parameters in meaningful arrangements using both tabular and graphic data. Dataviews are designed to group related parameters as independent and dependent items. This arrangement enables cross-correlation of parameters, the accepted means of determining functionality. Efficient. Optionally, mathematical Event Definitions can be provided to test specific parameters, thereby reducing the manual analysis load. These definitions can be linked to Anomalies, descriptions of anomalous parameter activity, with varying degrees of severity. Anomalies can thus be automatically generated based on the results of mathematical Event Definitions. It just doesn’t get easier than this! Quotes are provided upon request. Cost Effective. Avionica template file generation services are your shortcut to productive flight data analysis. All templates are priced based on number of parameters and event definitions. Despite AVSCAN’s robust Parameter Editor, our experience enables us to accurately generate these files in a fraction of the time required by the occasional user. Spend your time analyzing, not formulating! A traceable document is necessary in order to generate a template file. Possession of such a document by the operator is an FAA requirement. These documents are often available from the airframe manufacturer, or the Flight Data Acquisition Unit (FDAU) manufacturer. The minimum contents necessary in order to create a parameter file are outlined in FAA Advisory Circular AC 20 -141, dated October 5, 1999. This document may be downloaded fromhttp://www.airweb.faa.gov in .PDF document format. Traceable documents must be maintained current with respect to any modifications that affect the Flight Data Recording System. Legacy aircraft may not have a document such as that described above, since so many earlier aircraft began life without Digital Flight Data Recorders at all, or with a minimal number of required parameters. In such cases, the most recent DFDR parameter upgrade STC, with an accompanying STC test procedure may be sufficient to create the necessary documentation. If not, Avionica can provide guidance towards the preparation of such documents. Once created, you can choose to maintain your own configurations, or take advantage of our configuration management, and even Internet hosting services. Call us now to discuss your requirements. |
